My Niece's Birthday

One of my nieces recently turned one and we had a great party to celebrate.  Here are some pictures from her big day!

Mother-Daughter Brunch

Last weekend we celebrated Mother's Day, and every year my mom's church does a Mother-Daughter banquet.  However, this year they did a brunch, which was a nice change of pace.  I look forward to this every year though because it brings all the women in my family together which is a lot of fun - and this year, my sister in law from upstate New York even came down to visit.  Here are some pictures of the event -- P.S. the crazy looking lady on stage is my mom acting out some skit that had never been practiced -- but it was pretty hilarious.

Birthday Boy...

This past weekend we celebrated our nephew's 6th birthday.  He had an enjoyable day with all his little friends and we enjoyed hanging out with the family.

Date Day with Mama

I love having date days with my mom.  Today was one such day.  Today's date included a movie, lunch, and a manicure.

 

First up, was the movie.  We saw the movie, "The Words."  I would give it a 3/5.  It was an interesting movie and the actors performed well, however, I hated the ending.  It left me with multiple questions and no answers to those questions.  I dislike leaving a movie without feeling fulfilled or like the characters have ended in a good place - unless the movie is absolutely mind blowing like Inception.  This - no where near Inception.  So overall the movie was good but the ending left me wanting more. (sorry if that spoils it for you)

 

Next up came lunch at California Pizza Kitchen.

 

 

Mom ordered some kind of salad.

 

I ordered a cheese pizza.

 

 

Then we shared a chocolate cake dessert.

 

Finally, we got out manicures.

 

It was a fun filled, relaxing day.  A wonderful beginning to the weekend.

 

 



Happy Birthday Ann!!!

This past Saturday we celebrated my wonderful Mother in Law's birthday.  She is the perfect mother in law to have and it was a fun evening of celebrating with the family.

 

 

My top five favorite things about her are:

 

1. She knows that her son is not perfect. :)

2. She encourages me constantly and I know she always believes in me.

3. She brought her son up in the Lord and helped to make him the man he is today.

4. She always makes sure when she makes the family dinner that there is food on the table that I like.

5. She is an amazing grandmother to her current grandchildren, and I know she will be an amazing one for my future children.
